After five to six ring tones going on, the call has to be cancelled. This will make strangers not to enter your house easily. 

Thirdly, it is better to visit once or twice in a day time to check your locked house if possible. When you lock your house, it is better to open your outside front windows always and it should be visible to see inside. Always it is better to disconnect electricity in the main board. If ladies are alone in the home, it is better not to allow any persons for repairing anything. 

Always it is better to lock your front grill gate inside by lock.  If you do so, such gate will resemble just closed and not locked. So strangers will assume that somebody is inside.
